Connect an AI Agent to Your Atelier

Connect an AI assistant to the Atelier MCP server so it can build your Atelier as a draft. It works only on the profile you name, and you publish.

What the Atelier MCP Server Does

The Atelier MCP server lets an AI assistant that speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol), such as Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code, work on your Atelier. It can read your Atelier and artworks, ask you the questions for a brief, design a page and stage changes as a draft. It can’t publish. You look at the draft and press Publish yourself. The setup guide covers every assistant and tool.

The Agent View

Open your Atelier editor and choose Agent. It walks through six steps:

  • Connect: your API keys, how to connect, and Connected Agents.
  • Brief: the questions your agent asks before it builds, and the answers. Answer them yourself, or correct anything your agent recorded. The agent won’t build until the required ones are answered.
  • Agent Builds: the picture spaces your agent left for your works, and the widgets it added to your page.
  • Review: Preview Draft and your Preview Links.
  • Publish: what visitors see now, and Revert To Classic Theme when your Atelier shows an agent-built page.
  • History: Version History of your published Freeform pages.

Connect Your Assistant

Most assistants connect by signing in, with no key to paste:

  • Add the server to your assistant once, at https://yeja-ai.com/mcp. How To Connect in the Connect step has the configuration to copy.
  • When your assistant asks, sign in to Yeja. On Authorize Access To Your Atelier, check what you allow and choose Approve. Prepare Changes For Your Approval is ticked for you; Curate Your Live Page is not. If you are signed in as someone else, choose Switch Account first.
  • Start each chat by telling the assistant which profile to work on, with your profile link or @username.

If your assistant can’t sign in, use an API key instead:

  • Choose Create API Key and give it a Key Name you’ll recognize, such as the device or app it lives in.
  • Every key can read. Tick Allow This Key To Propose Changes to let it stage drafts. Tick Allow This Key To Change Pinned Works Immediately only if you want it to make live changes; see below.
  • Copy the key right away. It is shown only once.
  • Start the chat with the message from Tell Your Agent, which gives your profile link and the key.

Keys never expire unless you revoke them. You can have up to 10 at a time.

It Works Only on the Profile You Name

  • The assistant connects to the profile you name before it does anything else, and every answer says which profile it is working on.
  • With a key, the key must belong to the profile you name.
  • When the assistant is signed in to Yeja, the profile you name must be the signed-in account. If it isn’t, the assistant stops with identity_mismatch and changes nothing.
  • A chat works on one profile. To work on another profile, start a new chat.

What It Can Change

  • Drafts: with permission to propose changes, it can build a Freeform page, change its styles and fill its picture spaces with your works. All of this waits in your draft.
  • References: it can rebuild the layout of a website or screenshot you show it, using your own works. It doesn’t copy the reference’s images or text.
  • Previews: it can make preview links to your draft so you can look before you publish.
  • Publishing: it can’t. It gives you a link to your dashboard, and you press Publish. If the draft changes after that link was made, publishing is refused, so nothing goes live that you didn’t see.

Some permissions let the agent change your public Atelier right away, without a draft:

  • With Curate Your Live Page when signing in, or Allow This Key To Change Pinned Works Immediately on a key, the agent can pin and reorder works, choose what leads your page, and add or edit sections, timeline entries and products such as classes and prints. These go live at once on a published Atelier.
  • With permission to propose changes, the agent can also take your whole Atelier offline. Nothing is deleted, and only you can publish it again.

Manage Access

  • Connected Agents lists apps signed in to your account and chats connected with one of your keys. Choose Disconnect on anything you don’t recognize; it loses access at once.
  • Choose Rename to rename a key, or Revoke to stop it for good. Revoking can’t be undone.
  • Preview Links lists links to your draft. Choose New Link with a Link Lifetime of 24 hours or 7 days, and star a link to keep it from expiring.
  • If your Atelier shows a page built by an agent, Revert To Classic Theme brings back your classic Yeja theme. The agent’s design stays in Version History.
  • In Version History, Restore republishes an older version as a new one, so nothing in the list is overwritten.

Common Questions

Can an agent publish my Atelier?

No. No tool on the server can publish. Your agent hands you a link, and you press Publish in your dashboard.

Do I need an API key?

Not if your assistant can sign in. It asks you to sign in to Yeja and approve access. Use a key only for an assistant or script that can’t sign in.

What if my assistant is signed in as a different account?

It stops with identity_mismatch and changes nothing. Start a new chat, or sign it in to the account you mean, then name that profile.

I lost my API key. Can I see it again?

No. A key is shown only once. Create a new key and revoke the old one.

How long does a key last?

Until you revoke it. You can have up to 10 keys, so name each one after the device or app that uses it.

Can I undo what an agent built?

A Freeform page waits in your draft until you publish. If you already published an agent-built page, use Revert To Classic Theme, or restore an earlier version in Version History.

Can an agent copy another artist’s website?

It can rebuild a page’s layout from a reference. It places your own works instead of the reference’s images, and it doesn’t copy the reference’s text.
