Themes 2.0

Change how Yeja looks to you: get a theme from the directory, build your own from a preset, and switch between your themes.

What Themes 2.0 Changes

Themes 2.0 changes how Yeja looks to you: the colors, text, surfaces and type of the app around your work. It doesn’t change your Atelier. To change how your Atelier looks to visitors, use Themes & Style in the Atelier editor; see Atelier.

Yeja Themes, the older theme editor, is now part of Themes 2.0, and old links to it open Themes 2.0. Light, Dark and High Contrast are a separate setting; see Account And Sign In.

Getting A Theme

  • The directory shows published themes with a preview of their colors. Open one to see its versions, its Version History and its reviews.
  • Choose Get This Theme to apply a free theme to your account right away. If any text and background colors are too hard to read together, Yeja adjusts them as it applies the theme.
  • Getting the same theme again doesn’t make a second copy.
  • Tap the heart to add a theme to your favorites. Favorites are kept in this browser.
  • Choose Report if something is wrong with a theme. A moderator reviews each report.

Switching Between Your Themes

My Appearance shows your Active Theme, your own themes under My Themes, and Yeja’s Presets.

  • Set as Active switches to one of your themes.
  • Apply uses a preset as it is.
  • Use Yeja Default goes back to Yeja’s standard look.

Building Your Own Theme

  • Choose New Theme, then Start From This on a preset.
  • In the builder, set Colors, Surfaces, Text and States, then Typography, Shape, Depth and Custom CSS. Switch the preview between Light and Dark.
  • Readability checks that every text and background pair meets WCAG AA in both modes. If a pair falls short, Auto-Adjust fixes it.
  • Choose Save to keep your changes, and Apply This Theme to start using it.

Importing A Theme

  • Import brings in a theme from a .zip file or from a URL. When it finishes, the theme’s page opens.
  • Submit Theme converts a classic theme from a .zip file into a Themes 2.0 theme. When it finishes, you see the palette it found. Choose Apply This Theme, or Open in Builder to edit it first.

Selling Themes

Listing your own theme for sale isn’t open in the directory yet. You can build, import and use your own themes.

Common Questions

Does a theme change my Atelier?

No. Themes 2.0 changes how Yeja looks to you. Your Atelier’s look is set in Themes & Style in the Atelier editor.

How do I go back to the standard look?

Open My Appearance and choose Use Yeja Default.

Why do some colors look different from the preview?

If a theme pairs text and background colors that are too hard to read, Yeja adjusts them when it applies the theme, so everything stays readable.

I chose Get This Theme twice. Do I have two copies?

No. Getting the same theme again uses the copy you already have.

Can I sell a theme I made?

Not yet. You can build, import and use your own themes, but listing a theme for sale isn’t open in the directory yet.

Themes 2.0 says my session couldn’t be verified. What do I do?

Reload Themes 2.0. If it keeps happening, sign out of Yeja and sign back in.
