Offers And Installments

Send a buyer a private offer, paid at once or in monthly installments, and see how accepting, monthly charges, failed payments and closing an offer work.

Sending An Offer

An offer is a private price you send to one buyer by email. You can send offers once your Wallet is set up to get paid: your profile is verified and Stripe is connected. See Wallet And Payouts.

  • In Wallet, choose Add, then Send Offer. You can also open Offers on Home and choose Send Offer, or choose Send Offer To A Collector on one of your works in My Studio, which links the offer to that work.
  • Enter the Buyer Email and the Amount, and add an optional Note.
  • Under Terms, pick Full to be paid at once, or 3 Months or 6 Months to be paid in installments. The Payment Schedule shows what is due On Acceptance and in each month after.
  • Choose Send Offer. Yeja emails the buyer a link to the offer. If the email can't be sent, Yeja tells you, so let the buyer know yourself.

You can send up to 25 offers a day. You can't send an offer to yourself, and a linked work must be yours and still available. An offer stays open for 7 days. If the email has no Yeja account yet, the offer appears in that person's Wallet once they sign in with that email.

Accepting An Offer

Open the offer from Needs You on Wallet Home, where it shows as New with a Review button, or from the link in the email. The offer shows its Terms, what is Due Today and, for installments, what follows each month.

  • Tick the box to agree to the terms and the payment schedule, then choose Accept Offer.
  • Pay the first amount by card. With Full terms this is the whole price; with installments it is the first payment.
  • The offer shows as Accepted once Stripe confirms the payment. Until then it shows Awaiting Payment, and Complete Payment lets you finish paying.

With installments, the card you pay with first is saved and used for the later payments. To turn an offer down, choose Decline while it is still open.

How Installments Are Charged

  • The amount is split into equal monthly payments. The first is paid when you accept, and the others fall due one month apart, counted from the day you accepted.
  • Yeja charges each due payment to the saved card automatically, within a day of its due date.
  • Payments are made in order. A later payment can't be paid while an earlier one is still due.
  • The seller receives each payment, less Yeja's fee, as soon as it clears. The work is marked sold, and its Certificate of Authenticity is issued, once every payment is made.
  • Each side can follow the plan on the offer: how many payments are made and when the next one is due.

When A Payment Fails

If a later payment can't be charged, Yeja does the following:

  • It emails the buyer that the payment didn't go through and why: the card was declined, or the bank needs the buyer to approve the payment.
  • It tries again the next day, up to three tries in all.
  • The buyer's Wallet shows the payment as Payment Failed under Needs You, with Pay Now. Paying there lets the bank ask for approval, and the buyer can use a different card, which is then used for the later payments. The seller sees Payment Failed on the offer.
  • After the third failed try, Yeja stops charging that payment automatically. The buyer is emailed a link to pay from the Wallet, and the seller is emailed that the plan has stopped. The buyer can still pay with Pay Now.

Canceling Or Declining An Offer

  • A seller can choose Cancel Offer while the offer is open. The buyer can then no longer accept it.
  • A buyer can choose Decline while the offer is open. The seller sees that it was declined.
  • If the buyer has started paying but the payment hasn't gone through, closing the offer also cancels that payment. If the payment has gone through, the offer can no longer be closed.
  • An offer that nobody accepts within 7 days expires.
  • Canceling and declining can't be undone.

Once the first payment has cleared, an offer can't be canceled from the Wallet. To stop a plan or get money back, contact support. See Refunds And Disputes.

Offer Statuses

  • New: an open offer you received. Sent: an open offer you sent.
  • Awaiting Payment: accepted, but the first payment isn't confirmed yet.
  • Accepted: the first payment cleared. On a plan, the offer shows Due when a payment is due and Payment Failed when a charge didn't go through.
  • Declined, Expired and Canceled: closed without a sale.
  • Refunded: Yeja refunded the sale. Every paid installment was refunded, and nothing more is charged.

Common Questions

Who can send an offer?

Anyone who sells on Yeja, once their Wallet is set up with a verified profile and a connected Stripe account. Send Offer appears in Wallet after that.

How long does an offer stay open?

7 days from when it is sent. After that it shows as Expired and can't be accepted.

When is the buyer charged?

When they accept. With Full terms they pay the whole amount then. With 3 Months or 6 Months, they pay the first part then and the rest monthly on the saved card.

Can I change an offer after sending it?

No. While it is still open, choose Cancel Offer, then send a new one.

What happens if an installment fails?

Yeja emails the buyer and tries again the next day, up to three tries. The buyer can pay any time with Pay Now in Wallet. After three failed tries, automatic charging stops for that payment and the seller is told.

Can I pay an installment with a different card?

Yes. When a payment is due or has failed, choose Pay Now in Wallet and pay with another card. Later payments use that card.

When does the work count as sold?

When every payment in the plan is paid. The seller gets each payment, less Yeja's fee, as it clears.

What does Yeja charge on an offer?

The same fee as any other sale. See Pricing.
